There is a current national shortage of medications that treat ADHD symptoms. This is due to manufacturing issues and a growing global demand.

Our service provides private ADHD treatment instead of waiting for NHS funding through Right to Choose. Our assessments are free and include the cost of one prescription.

Titration

A thorough evaluation of your ADHD symptoms will be conducted with a highly experienced consultant Psychiatrist. This will include medical history and an assessment using the standard ADHD rating scales and questionnaires.

Following your assessment you will be advised that medication may be beneficial in your case. This will happen at your follow-up appointment (which could be in person by video link, in person or via phone). Your clinician will explain what medication options are available and, if you decide to begin taking medication, we will recommend titrating the dose to maximize the benefits/side effects balance for you.

This process may take several weeks and requires gradually altering your child's medication until the right balance is achieved. It's not uncommon to have to adjust up to three different medicines before you can find the one that best suits your child's ADHD. It is essential for parents to be involved in this titration process, and keep an watchful eye on their child's behavior to let the doctor know if the medicine is helping or causing adverse effects.

If you decide to return to NHS treatment you will be issued an individual prescription for your medication. You will be required to pay the pharmacy. This is not included in the consultation fee. You must attend six monthly appointments to monitor your medication - this includes blood pressure and pulse readings. Annual reviews are also mandatory.

Follow-up appointments

After the assessment is completed you will be able to make follow up appointments with the psychiatrist as necessary. The appointment will usually be conducted through a zoom video call. However, in certain circumstances, it might be possible for an audio-only appointment to be scheduled (again with an additional cost).

In this session, we'll discuss any treatment options we have and agree upon a bespoke individualised ADHD medication titration program. This will include a review of your medication dose and an examination of any negative side effects you may be experiencing. The cost for these titration appointments is PS150 for face to face sessions and PS60 for telephone or online video consultations. Costs for medication are extra and are paid directly to the pharmacy.

The psychiatrist will also ask you about your family history and the impact that your ADHD symptoms impact your life, including any relationship issues you might be facing or gadimark.free.fr any other mental health issues you may be suffering from. This is because ADHD is a genetic condition and it is important to look into any family history that could indicate that you're at risk of developing the disorder.

During this examination, it is essential to be truthful and honest with your doctor who will use the information you provide to determine if you have the diagnostic criteria for ADHD. This is an essential step in the process, since a failure to do so could result in an incorrect diagnosis, and thus an incorrect prescribing of medication.

If you decide to seek treatment for ADHD we'll schedule an appointment to follow-up with a psychiatrist who specializes in this field. This can be done at the time of your diagnosis if you are keen to begin treatment immediately or within two weeks if you prefer to take time to consider the implications of your diagnosis and the possibilities available to you.

If you are unsure of what you would prefer, we suggest that you talk to your GP prior to booking your private examination as some providers have different policies regarding whether they require the submission of a GP referral letter or not. We also advise that you check whether your GP accepts a "Shared-Care Agreement that means that after you have been discharged from the clinic you will be referred back to them for the medication prescription.

Medication

Medication is a key element of the process for many people seeking an official adhd titration private diagnosis. It isn't always easy to obtain prescriptions from psychiatrists on the NHS. NHS waiting lists are notoriously long and GPs may be reluctant to refer patients on to specialist services.

After you've been identified as a candidate for this treatment, your chosen clinician will assess you and decide whether or not you need to be titrated on medication. You'll need to fill out forms that vary by doctor but the most frequent ones are self-reporting questions and medical histories dating to your childhood and into adulthood. These forms will assist your doctor identify any factors that might indicate that you shouldn't be taking ADHD medication if prescribed.

If you are titrated, the medication will be a combination stimulants and nonstimulant medicines. They will be carefully tested and monitored to find the most suitable combination for you, taking into account any medical conditions you may have.
