Best iRobot Vacuums

This entry-level iRobot model is a great option for those who do not want to pay the price of a more expensive model. It features incredible navigation and obstacle-avoidance features, and offers app and voice control, as well as scheduled cleanings.

In our tests, its performance in vacuuming was outstanding. It picked up 55% of the debris. Its mopping was a success in obliterating dried milk staining.

1. Roomba S9+

After spending a month testing robot vacuums, I think the Roomba s9+ is the best choice for most homes. Its unique D shape lets it get close to corners and walls for an even better cleaning. And its powerful motor is better at removing pet hair than the other robots I've tested. The s9+ has advanced features, such as Dirt detection and the capability to choose which cleaning time to use the iRobot Home App.

iRobot developed vSLAM's navigational software, which was originally created to assist landmine detectors find mines. It's an amazing achievement. It scans your home 25 times per second, creating a detailed map that enables Baby Rocky to avoid getting caught in clutter. Furthermore the new model comes with PerfectEdge technology, which lets the s9+ hew closely to tricky edges, like the thin edges on my Ikea-renovated kitchen cabinets.

The s9+ isn't inexpensive, but it's also the most Wi-Fi-enabled robotic vacuum I've ever used. Its intelligent mapping, self-emptying base, and simple iRobot Home app make it easy to schedule cleaning from afar. It's also easy to set up and maintain, and feels solidly constructed.

Although I'm not so sure on the s9+'s'smart dirt sensor' (it's meant to identify areas that have high concentrations of debris and focus its cleaning power on those areas) or its 'quiet mode' (which seems more like it should be switched off rather than on) however, its overall performance is unsurpassed by any other robot vacuum I've seen. It's also more effective at cleaning up pet and kitty hair than its nearest competitor, the slightly cheaper ONSON GOOVI robot F007.

2. Roomba J7+

The Roomba j7+ is one of the top robot vacuums and also offers wet mopping capabilities. The j7+ uses advanced obstacle avoidance technology to help navigate through your clean and tidy floors without snagging any spots. This new feature allows the robot to stay clear of obstacles like pet poop or other items that could cause it to break or become stuck. This is a major improvement over earlier models that had to be able to avoid obstacles on the fly or through a user-programmed path.

The j7+ is programmed to create a smart map of your home by sending it on a mapping mission via the app. The j7+ will navigate automatically to the exact location of the map it has created for future cleaning tasks. You can edit the map, label rooms and set up cleaning zones to modify the j7+'s navigation options. The j7+ has strong battery capacity and can clean for over 100 minutes on a single charge. It's quieter when cleaning carpet than hard flooring, but puts out less noise than the CDC says most people find annoying (about 60db).

The j7+, when fitted with a mopping attachment can automatically switch between sweeping and mops to ensure your floors are thoroughly cleaned. It has a powerful 3-stage cleaning system with powerful suction, edge-sweeping brush that can move around furniture and tight corners, and dual multi-surface rubber brushes that work well on various floor types. The J7+ also performs a solid job of getting pet hair and debris from carpets with no pile and floors with low pile.

Although the J7+ is a fantastic robot vacuum but it's not as efficient as our top pick, the Ecovacs Deebot X1 Omni. The X1 is more robust and has a longer battery life. It also has a higher charging speed and is compatible with a base station that can automatically empty its own tank. It also can recognize your schedule and arrange autonomous cleaning sessions.

3. Roomba i3 EVO

The Roomba i3 EVO is an excellent robot vacuum that does a great job cleaning floors with no dust. The BestReviews Testing Lab put it up against the Shark AI Robot, and even though both models have the same cleaning capabilities, we found that the i3 EVO was better equipped to handle carpeting that has high and low piles. The i3 EVO also has a larger dirt compartment, which means it does not require frequent emptying. It also comes with a Dual Virtual Barrier device that lets you identify areas for the robot to avoid while cleaning, which makes it a good choice for homes with pets.

The i3 EVO, as with other irobots, uses smartmaps to keep track of the layout and divisions of your home. However it does not have a camera, as the i8/i8+ and the j7/j7+ and s9/s9+ do. The i3 EVO instead uses floor-tracking sensor to determine the location of rooms and how they're divided. After mapping is completed the room, the i3 EVO displays the smart map in the app, allowing you to alter the room dividers and labels as needed.

powered by iRobot OS the i3 EVO is always one step ahead of everyday messes. It will learn your habits for cleaning and provides suggestions, such as scheduling cleaning time when you're away from home or suggesting extra clean-ups during peak pollen or pet shedding season. You can also start the cleaning process by simply speaking by using Google Assistant or Alexa.

The i3 EVO is impressive at cleaning bare flooring, tackling smaller debris such as rice and bulkier materials like cereal in a solitary pass. It struggles a bit with pet hair and other small particles on floors that aren't cleaned, however, and requires multiple passes to completely clear them. This is not uncommon for robovacs without a special suction designed for pet hair.

When the i3 EVO dustbin is full it automatically empties the contents into the docking station's exterior debris compartment, and then continues to clean. It will also return to the station and begin charging when the battery is at a low level. This feature keeps your hands clean and prevents the i3 EVO's performance will stop getting worse as dust accumulates.

4. Braava Jet M6

The Braava Jet M6 is a mopping robot which aims to eliminate the stress of cleaning floors. It's quite different from irobot for hardwood floors Braava's earlier models and comes with a larger tank of water that is beneath its new, stylish lid. In contrast to other 2-in-1 hybrids it actually mops your floors with a clean-soap instead of simply cleaning up dirt and putting it on the floor. It also has a nice adjustable spray that enables you to focus on the area you wish to clean and also an intelligent recharge and resume function.

It is easy to use and set up. Plug it in, install the iRobot App and follow the steps. It's also compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can give it an order to start cleaning or check its status. The iRobot App is one of the most user-friendly in the business and allows you to plan, schedule, choose rooms, block off areas, and much more.

The M6 utilizes Imprint Smart Mapping to map out your home's layout. It does this by mapping each room with its contents without the use of cameras or wires. It can also map your home even if it's been cleaned, which could be helpful in case you need to move furniture or make any other major modifications to your floor plan.

This mop from a robot is the best in its class. It can clean your floors and get rid of messes. It's particularly adept at removing small, sticky spills. It can also move under skirts and chairs, and hug the wall. It's not the strongest mop available, but it still does a great job.

As with other iRobot products, it's a little pricey however it comes with some great features that make it a worthwhile cost. It comes with the base station, one washable mop pad, two disposable paper-towelling pads dry pads, as well as a sample bottle of the company's own hard floor cleaning solution.
