It can be difficult to keep your home clean of pet hair and dander if you have pets. Fortunately, robot vacuums are great at removing it, including the hair strands that often hide in carpet and rug.
These four models excel in getting rid of pet hair on a variety of floor types. They also offer the ability to avoid obstacles with a reactive approach and apps-based customisation.
1. Dyson V15 Detect
The Dyson V15 Detect is the latest vacuum cleaner in the popular cordless stick lineup. While it looks a lot like its predecessors on the outside, this model packs several significant improvements. It is most notable for having a stronger motor that produces the equivalent of 230 air watts, which is 24 percent more suction power than the predecessors. It can also identify and measure the size of dust particles that it collects. The information is displayed on its LCD display.
This is an excellent feature that can be especially beneficial for pet owners since it proves that your floors have been properly cleaned. The V15 Detect also reveals a new Dyson innovation, which is now being added to other models of the brand including the laser beam fluffy roller attachment. This attachment uses lasers of class 1 (so it's safe for pets and humans) mounted on its motorised floor head to highlight the tiniest dust particles that have accumulated on the surface of your floors which makes it easier to determine if you have missed anything during your cleaning session.
In our tests the V15 performed a great job of picking up pet hair from both low-pile and bare carpet. It also cleared quite a bit of debris off carpets with high pile but we suggest that the suction gate on the multi-surface floorhead is kept partially open. It has a larger dustbin and is lighter and stronger than the Miele Classic C1. It also has fewer maintenance parts and charges faster.
However, its trigger function could be a strain on some users during long cleaning sessions. Some users may be intimidated due to the smaller bin (less than one liter). It's also not as simple to maneuver on carpeted surfaces.
2. Tineco PURE ONE S11
Tineco PURE One S11 is a cordless vacuum cleaner with an unique feature that is an integrated dirt sensor that automatically adjusts the suction power when you move it across your floor. This makes the stick vacuum more easy to maneuver and offers an even and consistent performance in clearing debris. During our testing, the S11 excelled at removing pet hair on bare floors and low-to high-pile carpet. It also took away the sand from carpets with medium piles as well as various smaller particles. The S11 is simple to store. It comes with a stand to hold the cordless vacuum upright, a clip-on storage rack for two of its attachments, and a rechargeable battery that transforms the machine into a hand vac.
Unlike other stick vacuums that we tested, the PURE ONE S11 features an info display that shows the battery's life in real-time and attach status. The iLoop sensors of the S11 show the vacuum's status in terms of cleaning, including whether it is picking up dirt or if there's been a blockage.
The S11 companion app allows you to monitor the battery's life, alter suction settings, and check the intervals for maintenance and replacement for the HEPA filter, dustbin, and pre-filter. The interface of the app is simple and responsive, as well as free of delays. The S11 is similar in appearance to the Samsung Jet 90 Complete, but it has a telescopic pole which adjusts the length of the vacuum to accommodate different sizes of users. It also comes with the turbo brush attachment which is more effective in removing pet hair from upholstery. It's cost per month is lower, and a longer runtime by a single battery charge.
3. Eureka Mighty Mite
The Eureka Mighty Mite is a sleek, compact canister vacuum that gives you flexibility and power at an affordable price. It is powerful and works well on all types of flooring. It also comes with large, easy to remove dust bags that can reduce maintenance costs and cleaning time. It is the most efficient automatic vacuum for pet hair because it is designed to pick up pet dander, fur and dander.
The Mighty Mite is also a great choice for stairs, because it comes with a long length of hose that is able to reach up to nine steps without needing to remove the main canister from the bottom of the unit. Its small design and lightweight structure allow it to be carried up and down the stairs, while navigating furniture and other obstacles. The wand and hose can also be used above ground, which can be beneficial when you need to clean larger furniture or drapes.
This unit is louder than the others on this list. It emits an annoying high-pitched sound, which sounds like the sound of a dentist's drilling. It also draws 1160 watts which is a lot of power for a canister.
The Eureka Mighty Mite is an excellent choice for anyone seeking a multi-functional and portable automatic vacuum for pet hair. It is easy to maintain and is able to be used on all kinds of floors. If you want a more advanced canister, we recommend the Hoover Whirlwind Bagless Canister. It's a bit more durable and has lower recurring costs and is more effective on low-pile and high-pile flooring.
4. Wyze Cordless Vacuum
The Wyze Cordless Vacuum makes a great choice if you are looking for a compact, lightweight vacuum that can tackle daily debris quickly. It has a fantastic power-to-battery ratio, is able to access difficult-to-access areas easily and comes with many handy accessories. The main unit and all its attachments are less than 2.8 pounds when fully assembled. This makes it easy to move up or around furniture legs. It is equipped with a long-lasting rechargeable battery and an allergen-trapping HEPA-filter.
PC Mag praised this cordless vacuum for its suction power, respectable 40-minute runtime, and the basic accessory bundle that costs at less than $140. Its brushless motor design reaches 110,000 RPM for more power with less friction, allowing it to work more efficiently and use less battery power while doing so. It also has an ancillary brush motor for picking up pet hair and debris stuck deep in cracks or crevices.
The Wyze has a smaller, lighter, and longer runtime than the Black+Decker AdvancedClean+ Pet dustbuster. The Black+Decker is more effective in cleaning floors with no dirt. It also comes with a turbo-brush for tougher mess, and a bigger dirt compartment.
5. Neato D9
Neato has been one of the leading innovators in best robot vacuum for thick carpet and pet hair floor care for over 20 years. Their D-shaped robotic cleaners like the D8, are flat on the front, allowing them to hug walls more effectively than circular robots. This makes them a perfect choice for cleaning corners.
They employ LaserSmart powered by LIDAR, the same technology used in self-driving vehicles, to create the map of your home and then navigate it precisely and leave those pleasing straight lines of vacuum on your carpet. The app is simple to use and allows you to schedule cleaning times and create No-Go Zones that will keep you out of areas such as pet bowls and children's toys that require a lot of attention.
The D9 has an industry-leading 0.7 milliliter dirt bin. This means that it requires less frequent emptying than smaller robots. It also has turbo-mode, which has 40% more suction as compared to the D8. A high-performance filter can capture 99.5% allergens and small particles. The D9 will automatically recharge itself and resume cleaning where it left off when the battery is exhausted during a cleaning.
