For pets with shedding fur A robot vacuum/mop set-up is among the top floor cleaning solutions. This machine can mop and vacuum and even dry and clean its own mop pads.
It also has 8,000Pa suction, the highest of any robot we've examined. It also can save maps of your home and create cleaning schedules through its app.
1. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni
The X2 Omni robot vacuum-mop is the latest model in Ecovacs range of hybrid robot vacuum mops. This model that is wet-dry is fitted with the company's upgraded AIVI 3D 2.0 lidar system that provides improved mapping and obstacles avoidance. The system is dual-laser LiDAR which is similar to what is used in self-driving cars -- and can scan an area of up to 32 feet in 270 degrees. This translates to more precise mapping, faster response times, and better cleaning accuracy.
It also features a rotating mopping pad made of chenille fabric, which makes it much easier to scrub difficult spots unlike traditional mop. In my tests, the X2 Omni washed its pad in just a few seconds and was ready to go. I noticed that it was more precise than other models, which seemed to follow a grid around rooms. It was capable of navigating my room's by the corners and edges as well as make an "Zambani pattern" across the center of the room. It returned to its OMNI Station frequently to empty the dust bin and wash the mop with hot water prior to beginning another cleaning task.
Like other Ecovacs products, the X2 Omni is simple to set up and start using. Simply snap the dock into place connect it to the power outlet and pair it with your home WiFi network. It takes just some minutes. You can then open the app to begin your first cleaning task. I was able customize my floor plan within 15 minutes. This included creating restricted areas for sweeping and mopping as well as rearranging the positioning of wall-mounted furniture, and more. The X2 Omni was astonished in my tests, achieving outstanding scores in cleaning pet hair and debris cleaning, as well as near-perfect results for crevice and edge cleaning.
2. Deebot T10 Omni
The ECOVACS T10 Omni is a powerful mopping and vacuum machine. It is the most advanced of the brand's T-line and features a new OZMO Turbo 2.0 mopping system that uses dual-spinning brushes for more effective cleaning than traditional oscillating scrubbing. It also has YIKO built-in, a first-of-its-kind natural language processing tech that allows it to respond to a wide range of voice commands. You can make use of the ECOVACS app to map your home, set up cleaning schedules, and alter settings.
The main flaw of the T10 Omni is that it cannot switch between mopping and vacuuming in a single operation. The two modes require that you attach and remove the mop heads as needed and is suitable for most homes but not a good fit for people who lead busy lives.
The Deebot T10 is a great robot vacuum that gives impressive results. It was able to vacuum up more than 96% of the debris we tossed at it on our hardwood flooring and floors, which is a remarkable performance. It also did an excellent job with tile and carpet, removing over 90% of dirt and debris.
This robot vacuum and mops has a large docking system that allows for automatic cleaning using cool water for the mop pads. It also comes with an auto-emptying 3L bag that is easy to replace and hot air drying for fast and easy maintenance. It also has a large water tank that permits more frequent rinses and dry between mopping runs.
Like many other mopping robots, the Deebot T10 Omni has a wash tray in its base that rinses and dry its mop pads as it utilizes them. However, it doesn't come with a removable tray, meaning that dirty water dust, dirt and other grime accumulates in the bottom of the tray over time.
3. RoboVac X8 Hybrid
While Anker's Eufy is well known in the robot Vacuum mop pet hair vacuum space, this model is its first venture into the world of mopping. It offers improved smarts, multiple map support and LIDAR scanning, as well as twin-turbine suction technology that automatically adjusts to the floor you're cleaning. It's a great mid-range robotic vacuum cleaner, even if it doesn't quite deliver on its promise to be the ultimate source for floor cleaning.
The X8 Hybrid looks like a traditional robotic vacuum cleaner from the top with its circular design with sweeping wheels, as well as a raised area for sensors. Flip it over, however, and you'll find an electric floor brush and a single side sweeper that carries dirt from the edges into the main path of the robot's'mouth'. It's smaller than the main brushes of the iRobot Roomba S9, which I discovered makes it easier to access under sofas and chairs.
The mapping system is quite sophisticated, allowing you to set no-mop zones, as well as specific cleaning zones. It is prone to bumping into things like its charging station, and isn't great at navigating over carpets. It was effective in getting pet hair off of carpets. In our tests it was able to pick up 89.5 percent of kitty litter.
The X8 Hybrid is controlled via an app, however it also has a set of physical buttons located at the base of the. These buttons let you choose the cleaning mode, or turn the robot off/on. Additionally, you can use these to set no-go zones and see maps in real-time. It's also a bit chatty and will tell what it's going to do next (start cleaning) or notify you when something isn't right.
4. ILIFE A4s
This advanced model collects pet hair, kibble and other debris with top-notch performance and is able to effortlessly maneuver around furniture legs. It also comes with an impressive feature set that includes two cleaning modes as well as a self-emptying dock and real-time obstacle avoidance technology. It's Wi-Fi-connected and best rated robot vacuum for pet hair controlled through the Neato app where cleaning can be scheduled and overall maintenance needs are monitored. The X2 Omni is an excellent option for homes with a large hardwood carpet and floors, but it requires some planning ahead to avoid getting stuck on electrical cords, toys, or other unexpected obstacles.
In our test of hardwood floors and kibble, this robot performed well and was able to pick up everything from one grain of rice to several pieces of dog food in one go. It had some trouble with rugs however, in general this vacuum cleaner is perfect for large rooms that have floors of different types as well as a mixture of pets.
It's not cheap however, if you are able to handle the cost this is a great option for those who wish to be able to leave their homes hands-free to go about other tasks or complete chores. The A4s Pro also offers a useful auto cleaning mode that boosts suction power to tackle tough spills and dirt and it comes with batteries that power the ElectroWall that lets you set boundaries that the robot is not allowed to access.
This budget-friendly option from a well-known upstart brand is the cheapest robot we've ever tested and provides an outstanding value for cost. The basic navigation system is based on a basic random pathing algorithm and it lacks the ability to map rooms. This is why it's less effective than the other models on this list. However it's still able navigate under furniture and into corners and its mopping mode performed well in our testing, picking up stray pet hair and other debris with ease.
5. Shark iQ
Shark's iQ might not be as durable, but it is better at cleaning pet hair from all surfaces. It does a better job of cleaning carpets with low piles as well as bare floors. It also makes use of smart-pathing navigational software for greater maneuverability. It can be positioned to a specific location, and includes a variety of advanced automation features including no-go zones and schedules. It even lets you to pause and resume the cleaning process, so it's perfect for households with pets.
Its self-cleaning brushroll helps prevent the tangles caused by pet hair and other debris, and its self-emptying bagless docking station can hold up to 30 days worth of dirt prior to needing to be cleaned. It comes with angled side brushes to reach into corners, as well as a multi-stage filter system that captures dust, allergens, and dander.
This robot vacuum feels solid and well-built. It comes with an app for smartphones that enables you to change its vacuum settings and schedule cleaning times in advance. The app lets you see the iQ's remaining battery life and receive push notifications about any issues it encounters during its cleaning process. You can control it with your voice via an Amazon Alexa device or Google Assistant device. If you don't have either of these devices you can mark out areas by using physical boundary markers.
The iQ is good for cleaning floors that aren't clean and is able to do an adequate job with shaggy and low-pile carpets. However it doesn't provide the same level of autonomy as our top choices. It's also costly and its monthly costs can increase.
