Self-emptying bases make the value of a robot vacuum cleaner self emptying vacuum particularly for those with large houses. This means you don't need to empty the bin more than once per run. It makes your floors more clean and it runs more often.
Its Lidar navigation does a great job of mapping and you can use the app to set zones and cleaning schedules. However, it couldn't get around obstacles like shoes or furniture legs, as well as the j7 and Q Revo.
1. iRobot Combo J7+
The Combo J7+ is iRobot's first robot mop and vacuum. The Combo J7+ combines the top-quality iRobot J7 robot vacuum and adds a reservoir of water, a robotic arms that can raise and lower mopping mats, and new sensors. The result is a highly powerful two-in-one cleaner, which we discovered to be superior to mopping-free robotic vacuums.
The Combo J7+ does not include the smart mopping features that our top pick does however, it cleans well. It has an efficient brush roll that works on hard floors as well as carpeted areas. It can get in between furniture and rugs without difficulty even on steep staircases. It has a strong suction, which we found impressive, although it's not as powerful as the Roomba's 694 from iRobot.
What makes the Combo j7+ above other robot vacuums is its mopping feature that uses a small rotating brush to scrub the floor. SmartScrub is what iRobot refers to and is akin to the way mops scrub a floor. The iRobot App lets you enable it on a per-room basis.
Like other iRobot robots, the J7 Plus is very easy to install and use. It's also simple to maintain. Both the dust bin and the water tank can be removed to make cleaning easier. And the iRobot app lets you watch videos about how to maintain different parts of the machine, like replacing the mopping pads or cleaning the dust bin.
The only downside is that you can only mop using the iRobot Combo if your mopping pad is attached and its 210ml tank is filled. It will only vacuum if either of these is missing. You can easily keep an eye on the tank's water level via the iRobot app, and if it gets low, you'll get an alert to refill it.
2. Roborock Q Revo
The Q Revo is a low-cost robot that does an excellent job at mopping and vacuuming. Its mopping performance, especially when compared to its price, is impressive. It can be used to mop hard floors and carpets with a fine-to- large debris (think: hair tangles, kitty litter, cereal of all sizes). It also does a fantastic job cleaning dry spills and messes. It is also ideal to clean stairs and other areas where it is easy to become stuck.
The mopping system uses rotating pads to scrub your floors and get rid of dirt and grime from areas that are stuck. The pad is then thoroughly dried by 45 minutes of warm air after each cleaning to avoid mold and unpleasant smells. You can easily control the robot with the Roborock app, or make use of your voice to start your mopping change settings, and much more.
Its vacuuming capabilities are also top-of-the-line. It has a powerful suction and high-efficiency filter that captures small to large particles effortlessly. The only drawback is that it doesn’t work as well on carpets with pet hair. Ten percent of pet hair remains on our test surface after two vacuuming cycles at maximum power, which isn't unusual in the world of vacuuming.
The Q Revo is a top-quality product, thanks to its superior navigation and obstacles avoidance. It also has great cleaning and mopping capabilities. It's not quite as good as a top-quality robot vacuum or mop however, it's an excellent choice for those on a budget. Additionally, it can charge up to 30% faster than previous versions and works with Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant, and Apple Siri Shortcuts. This adds a lot of functionality for a small cost. For more information and to decide whether the RoborockQ Revo is the one for you, check out our full review.
3. Yeedi Cube
The Yeedi Cube is a vacuum mop robot that operates well and comes with great features at a very reasonable price. The installation was simple and took just five minutes. After taking off the tape for manufacturing and protective plastic, a quick scan of the QR code on the app will get you started. The app is simple to use and guides you through each step. Once you have it set up, you can begin mapping and cleaning.
The app lets you create maps and customise the layout of your home. The app also lets you divide rooms into smaller sections to better meet your specific requirements. You can draw an outline of the kitchen and a different one for the living room. The robot will then sweep the floors at different times in each room.
The Yeedi Cube is unique compared to other robots that I've tried. It has an industrial look. The base station has a more modular design than other robots, featuring the tank for dirty water and an auto-empty feature on one end and the vacuum on another. The reusable mop pads are also a separate feature. They slot into the top of the robot and are attached to a handle in the front, making it simple to remove and refill.
The vacuum performs as well as any other robot I've tested and has two side brushes to the single brush in most models. This improves the coverage of the vacuum, making it less likely to lose debris on furniture and walls. However, it does have some issues with object detection and a tendency to run at full speed through objects, such as the tassel rug in my office.
4. iRobot Braava Jet m6
The iRobot Braava Jet m6 is a capable robot mop that can do its job well and keeps your floors looking good every day. It isn't able to vacuum like other hybrids and cannot move from hard floors to rugs or carpets. However, due to its long battery life and intelligent mopping features, this machine is a great choice for small and mid-sized homes.
It can be used in dry sweeping mode, too cleaning up to 1000 square feet with one charge. It can also map your floor plan using the iRobot app, and can clean rooms in a sequence using compatible Roomba vacuums.
In wet mopping, the m6 uses precision sprays to dampen the floors in straight lines. It was fascinating to watch, and it was able to remove even the most stubborn dried-in coffee stains and juice staining from my floors. It can be set to use less or more water than the maximum amount of water specified in the app.
The iRobot App is among the most user-friendly apps on the market. It allows you to sync with your home wifi. It's packed with user-friendly features like scheduling, room partitioning and creating no-go zones that allow you complete control over the machine. It also allows you to check how much battery power is left to give you an accurate idea of how much time it's left before having to be recharged and docked. The m6 is on sale at My Robot Centre in the UK for £499 and the iRobot store in the US for $399 and at Amazon (where it's currently available for sale). It comes in graphite and white.
5. Shark RV2610WA
There's no denying that vacuum and mop robots are a great way to keep your home spotless without having to lift a finger however they do be expensive to purchase. The Shark AI Ultra 2-in-1 robotic vacuum and mop with XLHEPA Self-Empty base which we reviewed, retails at $699 / PS559 / approximately AU$1,054. If you don't want the charging base, it will still cost $549/PS395 or approximately $675.
Shark RV2610WA is a fantastic option for anyone who is seeking a robot that is flexible and able to be used for both vacuuming as mopping. It can deep clean stains that are difficult to remove using the stain-lifting tool included in the package. The app lets you schedule the machine to clean on a specific date and time, and it comes with a smart feature that allows you to control the robot even when you're not at home.
The Shark vacuum cleaner is excellent at cleaning and can pick up most debris. However, it's not as effective on carpets. It's easy to get pet hair caught up in the brushroll, and the dirt compartment can get stuffed quite quickly. It also has a number of components that require regular maintenance and replacement, which can add up to recurring costs over time.
There are better options on the market. The iRobot Combo J7 Plus offers superior performance on carpets and floors with a high pile. It's built better, has a bigger dustbin, and can maneuver over obstacles like electrical cords with ease. The iRobot cleaner is more expensive but is worth it if you need an all-purpose vacuum that can accomplish both tasks effortlessly.
