The Eufy 11S is one of the cheapest self-emptying robot vacuums available. It efficiently sucked up dry oats from hard floors and best Self-emptying vacuum carpets with a low pile during our tests. Its dust bin is simple to empty and open -much easier than other models in its price range.

It charges at its base and then it resumes cleaning as soon as it's clean. But its obstacle-avoidance system is caught in socks and best self-emptying vacuum cords, and it can't go under low thresholds.

1. iRobot Roomba 11S

The 11S is among the cheaper self-emptying robots available and a lot of people seem to like it. It is good at moving under furniture and is a great choice for those who have hard floors or who do a lot of cleaning. The suction is less powerful than our top picks, however it still does the job. It has a large dust bin as well as a long-lasting battery. The app lets you schedule your daily cleaning or choose a specific room. It's also possible to map out your home, which can aid in avoiding areas that you don't want to visit.

The app is simple to use and has a simple layout. It's not an app with a lot of features however it's easy to use and lets you check the status of your robot. It also includes an informative tutorial that can provide you with the basics.

Bounce Navigation's cleaning pattern isn't always intuitive. Sometimes it follows straight lines and other times, it focuses on the edges of a space. However, it cleans the entire floor. The eufy RoboVac 11S makes an excellent choice for everyday vacuuming. It's design is very similar to our top pick and it excels at picking up small particles and dirt on hard flooring. It also does a great job on medium- and low-pile carpet. Like the Roomba by iRobot Roomba it also has a very large dirt compartment, and it uses BoostIQ to automatically adjust suction power. It also comes with a remote control that's easy to operate and you can schedule daily cleanings using the app. The battery lasts about an hour and the bin can be easily empty by removing it from its dock.

2. Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra

Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra robot mop and vacuum is an excellent robot with an array of amazing features for automation. It is available in three models, the basic S7, the S7 MaxV Plus, and the S7 MaxV Ultra. The S7 MaxV Ultra is the only model with an Empty Wash Fillet Dock (or an alternate Auto-Empty Dock). These docks allow the robot to return to its base following a cleaning session, empty the collected debris into a dust bag or reservoir, empty its clogged water tank and clean its mopping pad.

The S7's sensors work in tandem to eliminate obstacles and clean floors. It can detect flooring types, save a map of rooms and zones and even detect levels of dirt. It's also capable of scheduling and carrying out spot-cleaning sessions. It performed well in our standard tests, though it couldn't quite match the iRobot Roomba j7+ in our carpet deep clean test.

With the companion app you can program the S7 to run a cleansing cycle according to your schedule. You can choose the cleaning mode that is automatic or eco, and the day, week or even a time. You can also decide whether the robot will cease operation if its power is exhausted or in the event of an obstacle.

If you don't have an Android device, you can still use the S7 by connecting a remote control to the charging dock. The controls are confusing initially however they are very effective once you get used to them. The power button also acts as the 'Cleaning' option, and the Spot Clean button instructs the robot to clean an area around itself. The 'Spot Clean" button also activates the child lock.

In addition to the new mapping features, Roborock improved its mobile app, adding live view that lets you see what the S7 is up to at home. You can enable it by pressing a particular sequence of buttons on your S7, and then create an unlock pattern in the mobile app, which you can use whenever you want to check out what the S7 is doing.

3. Shark IQ XL

Shark isn't as well-known for robot vacuums as iRobot and Roborock However, our experience with this model has shown it to be one of the best self-emptying robot vacuums available on the market. It's easy to set up and comes with an enormous bin that is able to be easily empty (albeit loudly) to a trashcan when it is full. It can also be programmed to clean your entire home on a regular basis.

The IQ XL is able to connect to your WiFi at home, allowing you to monitor its progress on cleaning from the Shark app. The app lets you set up a cleaning routine, receive push notifications regarding its status, pause cleaning and restart cleaning, or set it for one specific area. It can also be controlled with voice commands via Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. The app can tell you the power mode it's currently in, namely Eco, Normal, or Max--but we didn't find that any of the modes had a significant impact to cleaning performance.

The IQ XL will automatically empty the dustbin at the end of a cleaning cycle into the base, which will then automatically empty itself. The bin can store up to 60 days of debris, meaning you don't need to empty it more than once unless your pets have hair that is long. If you do have to empty it, all you need to do is detach the side bin, put it over a trash container and press a button to eject the contents.

The Shark IQ XL is a excellent vacuum cleaner. It does a great job of cleaning bare floors and can maneuver itself well. However it's not the best choice for carpeted floors. Shark IQ XL feels a little less solidly built than the Roomba 694. It does a good job at cleaning carpeted floors, however, it isn't as efficient as the iRobot Roomba i7 when it comes to bare floor performance. The i7 is also better-built and feels more durable and sturdy, has less maintenance requirements, has lower recurring costs, charges faster, while offering similar battery performance, and offers the most advanced automation features like no-go zones and the capability to select certain rooms to be cleaned.

iRobot J7+

This robot vac/mop combination is a rare beast, as it does both jobs extremely efficiently. iRobot Combo j7+ has all the smarts and features of its j7 equivalent, including LiDAR maps and self-emptying. However, it also has additional features for vacuuming and mopping.

The new acoustic sensors assist the j7+ to identify flooring types, meaning it can choose between mopping and vacuuming on the first pass through an area. It also makes use of this information to prioritize cleaning rooms that have carpet or rugs over those with hard floors.

Like many robotic vacuum self emptying vacuums, the j7+ is relatively quiet when it's running, and much quieter when mopping. The highest reading we could get on our decibel meter was 64db, which is similar to the sound of normal office chatter.

It's easy to set a schedule for cleaning and change the way that the j7+ operates when its dust canister is full. The j7+ is also able to be controlled by voice assistants (Alexa, Google Assistant, etc.) for a hands-free approach and the app allows you to create and explore maps of your home.

The j7+ did well in our tests on hard and carpeted floors, getting rid of most of the dirt that we tossed at it. It has a hard time dealing with pet hair, large debris and sand. But it is able to clean them with more effort. It has excellent navigational capabilities and two cliff sensors that keep it from falling down the stairs or getting caught on furniture legs.

We did find a few minor niggles with the j7+, mostly that it can get caught on rugs and cords and that it doesn't always turn off its mopping when it's finished vacuuming. Otherwise, this is an excellent model that checks all the right boxes.

iRobot j7+ has also one of the most efficient auto-emptying systems that we've ever examined. It puts its 14oz 0.4-liter dust canister into the base station, where it automatically emptys itself for you to. This helps reduce the amount of trash you have to throw away and you'll only need to replace the dust disposal bag from the dock about every 60 days or so, depending on how often you use the j7+.
