There's a robot to suit any carpet type, whether it's low-pile or high-pile. These intelligent appliances can navigate your home, suck up dirt and clean under furniture.
A lot of them come with advanced features, like mapping, which allows them to navigate your home and recall furniture placement. They also can increase the suction power in order to tackle dirtier surfaces.
iRobot Roomba 694
The iRobot Roomba 694 is an entry-level robot vacuum that works well on carpets with a low pile or bare floor. It has good suction and cleans up most debris, though it isn't able to handle larger particles like sand or rice. It is effective in cleaning pet hair but is not as resistant to knots as premium Roomba models like the I6 and j7.
The Roomba 694 is simple to use. It has three buttons on the top cover. 'Clean,' which launches a cleaning session, 'Dock,' which places it in its charging station and the 'Spot' button, which self emptying robot vacuum is the best triggers an individualized cleaning. It can be controlled via an app for smartphones that lets you to schedule cycles, stop/start them, and alter settings. It can also be paired with smart home devices such as Alexa or Google Assistant for voice-controlled operation.
This vacuum is slower than others, but it's still able reach most corners and crevices. It has a big bin that makes it easy to empty. It is compatible with digital mapping and virtual barriers, which lets you program the robot to stay out of certain areas or stop cleaning altogether to prevent it from getting stuck.
Although it's not the top model for its price however, it's superior to many other alternatives. The Roborock E4 is more advanced than the Roomba 694 with a much better cleaning performance for both bare and low-pile carpets. It also has a more durable battery and a better path. It also feels better-made and has fewer parts that need regular maintenance, costs less to own over the course of its life, and charges faster than the 694.
It is also worth considering other models from the iRobot range, such as the v7 and the 981. They're more expensive, however they offer significant improvements over the 694 in terms of performance on both bare and low-pile floors. They also follow a more efficient cleaning route, have a bigger dirt compartment, are quicker to charge, can move more easily, and are much easier to pair with smart home devices.
Shark RV1001AE IQ
This self-emptying robot with a budget does a decent job on hard floors and carpets with a low pile. The combo brush can reach into edges and corners, and it automatically increases suction when it detects carpet. It also is effective in cleaning dirt and debris that are embedded in mid-pile carpet. The IQ has a small footprint and has a self-emptying feature. However, if you want to change the floor vacuum robot levels on the map or set no-go zones you'll have to manually reset it to do this, which is a bit of a hassle.
The IQ's app has some advanced mapping and automation features however, it's not able to access no-go zones which are included on iRobot models. The smart-pathing navigational system results in greater maneuverability and its high-pile carpet mode is clean well, though it tends to get caught up in rug tassels. Additionally, its iHome speaker lets you control the robot with voice commands.
During our tests, we found that the IQ was able to handle pet hair effectively. It was able to eliminate lots of debris on bare floors and a decent amount of rug with a medium pile. It was less effective on shag carpets, where it struggled to get at dirt and dust buried within the fibers. It did a decent job of maneuvering around the legs of chairs and tight spaces, as well as the wooden base of an IKEA step stool. It was a little slower on bare flooring however, it was able to recover speed and performed better than other robots we evaluated.
The IQ is a better option than the iRobot Roomba 694 for most uses. It has a larger dustbin and a longer battery lifespan and is better at navigating obstacles. It comes with a mopping tool that can clean up sticky debris. The iRobot is, on the other hand feels better built and has less components that require replacement or maintenance and incurs fewer recurring costs, can create virtual no-go zones using its companion app. It can even resume cleaning from where it left off in case it runs out of battery before finishing the job. The iRobot can also be controlled with voice, which can be an enormous benefit for many users.
Eufy 11S
The eufy RoboVac 11S robot vacuum isn't one of the most feature-rich models, but it provides great cleaning power at an affordable price. It's a budget-friendly option for buyers who don't require a complicated mapping system or app to control the device. This robot can last for more than an hour. It includes the remote control, cleaning tool and AC power adapter.
The 11S is slim, sleek and has a tempered-glass upper deck that looks like brushed aluminum. It's a nice aesthetic contrast to Roomba, Samsung, and Neato designs that are more industrial and utilitarian.
In our tests, the eufy11S was extremely effective at removing large particles and fine dust on hard flooring. It was unable to thoroughly clean medium and high-pile carpets. The device is also prone to smack into furniture and people in its path however, it's able detect those obstacles using sensors. It ceases and emits a loud ring when it encounters an obstacle. Then, you can manually guide the device around it to get it to work again.
Another fantastic aspect of the eufy 11S is its BoostIQ mode, which allows you to set the robot to automatically adjust the strength of its suction to match floor Best Robot Vacuum For Carpet type and level of dirt. It's also easy to use the remote to direct the 11S in the direction you'd like it to go.
If you don't have many furniture in the room you're looking to vacuum, Single Room Mode is an excellent alternative. The eufy is capable of spending up to 30 minutes cleaning the space it is assigned.
You can also opt for Edge Cleaning which reduces the time spent in each area to 20 minutes for optimal battery life. By selecting this option, the eufy will move in a spiral fashion, tackling corners and edges to ensure a clean.
Miele Complete C1
The Miele Complete C1 is an excellent mid-range robot vacuum that can be a great performer on carpet. Its performance on floors that are not bare is also outstanding. It can remove rice and other fine debris easily. The suction power doesn't diminish when the dirt bin is full. Its design is a breathable one and its air-sealed body will trap allergens to keep your family healthy. It has an onboard HEPA and self-emptying bin, which means you don't require additional filters or vacuum bags.
It's not as powerful as more expensive models, but it's still ideal for fighting stains and deep cleaning. Two front cameras provide live images to your smartphone, and it comes with one of the top obstacle avoidance systems we've seen. It also comes with a huge dustbin, a long runtime, and a fast, bump-free clean-up.
The Complete C1 is unlike most robots in that it can switch between the standard head and turbo head for various kinds of flooring. The turbo head is great for low-pile and high-pile carpeting and the standard powerhead is great on bare floors and lightweight rug. It also comes with an automatic height adjustment system, that allows it to adapt to various kinds of flooring, without manual adjustments.
The model comes with an SBD 285-3 Classic Combination Floorhead that can handle hard floors as well as medium-pile carpeting. The powerhead is also easy to maneuver and can reach tough spots. It has five levels of surface adjustment and a switch that lets you turn off the brushroll to prevent hairs from getting tangled.
The Classic C1 also has a self-cleaning brush roll as well as an UtraClean mode that cycles back and forth over the same area three times for the most thorough cleaning and a self-emptying bin that can be empty at the press of a button. The noise level of this model is higher than other models. However its powerful motor of 1,200 watts and sturdy construction justify the extra cost.
