You may have noticed on our website, several wood burning stoves are listed as DEFRA exempted or DEFRA approved. To the average homeowner these terms may seem like jargon they don't need to pay attention to however this is not the truth.

DEFRA is the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs. They are accountable for the policies and regulations related to agriculture, food and DEFRA stoves near me the environment. Defra approved stoves have been tested rigorously to ensure they abide by the government's strict rules for the emission of smoke during their operation.
