Bentley Mulsanne Key Celebrates Its Centenary

Mulliner Bentley's bespoke coachbuilding unit has created a unique keycase to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Bentley brand. Made from Dark Stained Walnut and Piano Black veneer, it includes a fluttering 'B' paperweight, a set of keys and a brochure that features never-before-seen 1930 8 Litre images.

It's a great present to greet a new owner of their lavish vehicle.

Aesthetics

As a design-driven company, Bentley takes its aesthetics seriously. It is evident in the precise placement of its quilting, the selection of leather from by-products of cattle production, the wood that comes from sustainably managed forests and the creative patterns on its levers. A car like the Continental GT W12 beckons as you walk up to it, displaying its sculptural beauty and power through carefully planned lighting.

The Continental GT is the most sophisticated open-top Bentley ever made. The rear of the tonneau in the Continental GT, for example was the largest piece ever of dark-stained Burr Walnut veneer that was book-matched. Similarly, the electrically-operated glass sunroof and champagne cooler that incorporated hand-blown and hand-cut lead crystal bottles marked a new benchmark in luxury and innovation.

Bentley is the most sought-after automotive brand worldwide due to its distinctive design and quality. The company continues to push the boundaries with the latest technologies and hand-crafted products. This includes the introduction of an electronic tilt-opening rear sunroof as well as a hand-crafted Apple iPad docking station.

A century after its creation, Bentley - now under sole Volkswagen ownership after years of fighting with BMW - celebrated its centenary in the year 2019. The marque planned a number special events and launches to mark the historic occasion before the pandemic was declared a priority.

Design

Bentley is known as a premium car manufacturer who produces lavish and extravagant cars. However, even keys stand out. The Bentayga key is made of sterling silver. The Mulsanne was redesigned and redeveloped by Bentley Mulliner, to be the ultimate Grand Touring car. The rear seats are designed to provide passengers with unmatched comfort and privacy. They were inspired by the luxury private aircraft. The custom heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system was designed to give every passenger the perfect temperature control.

In addition to a suite of refined styling updates The Mulsanne is powered by twin-turbocharged 6.75-litre W12 engine capable of producing 560bhp and 479lb-ft of torque. This colossal power is enhanced by a new suspension system that provides Bentley's famously quiet ride.

In celebration of its Centenary, Bentley Mulsanne Key Bentley introduced a bespoke specification known as the Centenary Specification for cars built in 2019. The cabin features cross-stitching and contrast stitching in Centenary Gold throughout. The Bentley Wings on the headrests and seats are stitched in Centenary Gold, adding to the feeling of celebration. A custom Bentley key case is also included in the Centenary Specification, making the Bentley experience all-inclusive.

Function

The Bentley Mulsanne key comes with an open button on the trunk, and another button that can start the car. The key also has a switch for turning on the parking brake. The knob can be used to fold or unfold the mirrors when parking in a tight space. This feature makes it easier to get in and out of your vehicle.

The key is made of vegetable tanned leather and takes two days to make each one. It is hand cut, shaped, sewn, sealed and polished to create an excellent finish. It is strong compact and fits the Bentley key perfectly. Its style is similar to the Volkswagen Phaeton large car's key however, it feels heavier and has a luxurious feel.

Secure-A-Key is also included to prevent keyless entry theft. This device is put inside the remote-control key fob, and stops it after a couple of minutes of inactivity, preventing thieves from transmitting the frequency of the key to other devices that are able to unlock and start the vehicle.

Bentley's unique design reflects the company's values of excellence in craftsmanship and engineering expertise. It also includes cutting-edge technology. More than 4,000 employees work at the Crewe headquarters, where they are responsible for the development, design, and production of Bentley cars. Personalisation

Bentley's Mulliner division allows customers to design their own vehicle. The "mood station" lets guests pick images that inspire them. These could range from scenic vistas and sporting events. When each selection is made, a pattern emerges, which reveals the model and color preferences for the custom Bentley.
