There are two major types of medications that are stimulants and non-stimulants. Stimulants like methylphenidate, amphetamine can boost brain chemicals known as neurotransmitters.
Stimulants
Stimulants are drugs for adhd that increase brain levels of norepinephrine and dopamine. These drugs can enhance brain function and reduce symptoms like hyperactivity, impulsivity, and inattention.
They are among the most commonly prescribed medications for treating ADHD in children and adults. They're safe and available in generic form. This makes them cheaper.
