Grammy Award winning artist James Bay has opened up about his career and the impact of travelling for work.
The 'Hold Back the River' hitmaker, 33, openly discussed the toll of leaving his two-year-old daughter behind with The Daily Telegraph.
'I am starkly aware that I disappear for a living... disappear from a child's life, who I brought into the world and I want to be here and who wants me around,' the English hitmaker said.
'That is big stuff. It is a really tough thing to navigate.'
The singer and his wife, Lucy Smith, welcomed their daughter Ada Violet in October 2021.

Known for global chart toppers Let It Go and Hold Back The River, the 33-year-old also revealed that he despite desiring a successful song, he doesn't 'chase' hits.
'Chasing a hit is incredibly unhealthy. That feeds into social media and the state of mental health in relation to social media,' he admitted.
The singer is currently in Australia headlining the SummerSalt Festival and shared with the publication that a fourth album is on the way.

Bay has been playing a new song called Hope from the album for the first time ever on his Australian shows.
He tied the knot with Lucy in August of 2022, 10 months after welcoming Ada.
The couple had been together for 15 years and James previously credited Lucy with making him pursue a career in music.

In 2020 he told The Sun, 'She's the coolest person in the world. We were close friends before we were in a relationship.
'Back in the day, we would be sitting in on a Wednesday night watching TV, and she would say, 'Hang on, if you want to be a big artist one day, surely you should be out in some pub or club playing some songs right now'.
'She instilled that in me, and I got out and Academic exchange did it. I wouldn't be here without her.'
