The app lets you create an interactive 3D home map, designate no-go zones and schedule specific cleaning times. The app provides a running record of cleaning times and the area covered and lets you view the performance of each room or area. You can even assign different cleaning options for each area. You can also include voice control on your Echo device or smart speaker if you have one.

2. iRobot Roomba j7+

The iRobot Roomba j7+ robot vacuum is an excellent alternative for anyone looking for a self-emptying vacuum that can also mop. The j7+ uses an extra-large dust bin than many of the other self-emptying robot vacuums we've tried. This allows it to hold more debris, however you'll need to empty it once every seven to eight months (or more frequently if have a lot of pet hair or other large debris). iRobot offers filters and bags that can be replaced.

Another nice feature is the j7+'s front camera it claims to help the robot identify hazards such as power cords and pet waste and avoid them. The camera isn't as effective in low light and you might want to consider a competitor with an improved camera, such as the Roborock S7 MaxV.

In the end, I was thrilled to discover that the iRobot J7+ automatically empties its dust bin into the Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal after it is docked. This is a huge improvement over most competitors, which require you to open manually and empty the bag. It's a minor detail, but one that will save you time and frustration.

3. Ecovacs Deebot T10 Omni

The T10 OMNI is great at cleaning pet hair. After two cleaning cycles, it was able to take the majority of pet hair from my carpets. It even managed to get around furniture that was blocking its way.

The T10 Omni is an excellent option for anyone looking to get a mop and robot vacuum that can empty it. The mops have the same power as its vacuums and it has a more appealing design than Roomba. While it does not have the remote control, its smart capabilities make up for this omission. You can easily start or stop a cleaning cycle or schedule it and change device settings with the app.

4. Shark ION XL

Shark's top-of-the-line self-emptying robotic vacuum, the ION XL is an excellent option for those who want hands-free cleaning and an outstanding level of performance. The vacuum comes with a big bin that can store a month's worth of dirt. It can be set to empty the bin at the end of each cleaning session to ensure long-term storage. The ION XL is one of the best robot vacuum and mop self-empty robot vacuums on the market, suitable for hard and carpeted floors, Self Emptying Robot Vacuum and Mop and it can also sweep and mop your floor. It can be controlled using an app or voice commands, and you can also create the map of your home to clean each room at the click of a button. The robot is also able to maneuver around furniture and can navigate stairs and carpeted rooms with ease.

I tested the ION XL in a family and kitchen room with hardwood floors, area rugs and a standard test for debris. It did a great job vacuuming, clearing pet hair and debris off the floors, and picked up some of the more difficult dust particles on carpets. It was also adept at moving and didn't hit my bar stools like the iRobot J7+ in this test. The only drawback is that the IONXL cannot detect toys, cords or shoes that are in its path, which means you'll have to clean your home prior to using this vacuum if you want it to avoid these things.

The ION XL robotic cleaner isn't as sophisticated as the iRobot j7+ but it's a good alternative if you don't want to spend over $500 on a robot. It's better than the less expensive RoboVac 11S in most ways and is easier to maintain and incurring lower recurring costs. It also performs better in vacuuming floors that aren't clean and picking up pet hair, but it can't perform as well on lowor high-pile carpet.

It's not as well-built, but it's still an excellent option. The ION XL is a powerful machine with a huge capacity bin. It is controlled by an app or voice command, and is simple to maintain. It also has an affordable price.
